Co-Owner John Doe

Kara Halfaker

Executive Director

Kara Halfaker is the founding executive director of No Fear Finances Empowerment Center (NFFEC) She is a graduate of the University of Florida (BS in Accounting) and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (MS in Accounting). Kara also holds the following designations: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Enrolled Agent (EA), Quickbooks ProAdvisor, & Project Management Professional (PMP).

Prior to starting NFFEC, Kara served as a program officer for a community development financial institution (CDFI) serving minority and women owned businesses.  In 2023, Kara was recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal as a 2023 NextGen BHM in Money recipient. She also previously taught in Birmingham City Schools and was an accountant for a Big Four accounting firm.

When she’s not crunching numbers or teaching financial topics, Kara enjoys playing pickleball and running with her dog.
