We recognize that quality accounting and tax services are often unaffordable for small business owners, with 45% citing cost as the main barrier to hiring an accountant or bookkeeper. In addition, there's a shortage of qualified professionals in this field, and with no federal or state requirements for tax preparers to demonstrate knowledge of tax laws, business owners are left vulnerable.
Meanwhile, Alabama has seen over 220,000 new businesses in the last three years, highlighting the increasing demand for these services. We also understand the challenges caregivers and mothers face in finding flexible, high-quality work opportunities, with 46% of women who remain unemployed having left the workforce due to childcare issues.
NFFEC Academy is committed to addressing these gaps by training the next generation of skilled bookkeepers and tax professionals while providing career opportunities that work for caregivers and business owners alike.
